Friday Night Lights 2x14 Leave No One Behind
Tuesday Matt is sad that Carlotta has left, leaving only a note on his pillow to say farewell, and she is not coming back. He looks sadly at his State Championship ring from 2006.
Coach Taylor is questioning his daughter about how to position your hands on the steering wheel. Julie is being snarky when she answers (ten and two).
Matt is on his way to school when he hears in the radio that Smash is indeed suspended for three games. He pulls over because of car problems. Matt's day is just getting worse by the minute.
Coach tells his players that yes, Smash is suspended. And now they have a lot of work to do.
Matt is not impressed by the new game plan. He is one of the captains, but does not really care anymore.
Random dude is blocking my view of my delicious Tim Riggins. The team is listening to the new game plan. Santiago looks kind of lost, and Smash looks very apologetic, *hugs him*.
Matt during art class. His drawing is successful because he can see that it is a vase and flowers in the vase. Go Matt! Oh, and he said bitch as well - twice actually - in case you did not hear it the first time.
Matt skipping school. Not caring one bit that Landry is calling his name, asking what he should tell the teacher. Hmm. Oh Matty.
Julie observing her mother and Tyra, patiently waiting for Tyra to finish up whatever she has going on with Mrs. Coach. Julie looks kind of sad. Not fun loosing your friend to your mother. Poor Julie.
Tyra: "Hey Mrs. T. Mind if I ask you a question?" Mrs. T: "Uh-uh." Tyra: "Is it insane if I feel a little jealous that some girl likes Landry Clarke?" Mrs. T: "Lan-Lance Landry Clarke? Uhm, I don't know. Do you like Landry Clarke? Tyra: "No, it is nothing like that." Riiiight Then why are you asking? Haha.
Wednesday Matt no longer has a car, so now he is checking out other options. Wait, a motor cycle Matt? Is that safe?
Tim: "QB1, skipping school again." Matt: "Yeah, well, yesterday just kinda turned into today, so. What about you?" Tim: "I always skip Wednesdays."
Tim is not impressed with Matt's choice of spending the 'skipping' day. He invites him along for his usual thing he does on Wednesdays. Tim: "Wanna go for a beer?" Yeah, like that's so much better than checking out new rides! Haha.
Matt is surprised that they are actually being served beer! Tim explains that Charlie never cards him because Charlie is old school. *Drinks*.
Tim tells Matt how mad Coach was for him skipping practice the day before. Matt is indifferent. He have beer! Me has beer as well?
Tim suddenly space out. I smell trouble. Is it? Indeed I was right. Lyla and Chris have entered the building.
Matt notices who Tim is looking at, and Tim, with much sarcasm, tells that the two lovebirds come in every day for lunch. *Pukes*. Oh Lyla.
Tim, slightly drunk, decides to go say hello to the two lovebirds. By the way, totally good show Chris-whatever-you're-called.
Hmmm. Can you say arrogant much? Go away Chris! You belong in Gilmore Girls, not Friday Night Lights. Leave Lyla alone so that her and Tim can get together under the stars and make nice and sweet lurve. Ahem.
Tim continues to talk, letting Lyla know what she missed out on - next time, try to be sober Tim. I think that will work better when dealing with Lyla. Me, on the other hand, I'll take you drunk and sober, haha. *Rawr*.
Lyla is slightly mad. She shows off her white teeth, almost growling. But we can all see that she is still not sure if she made the correct choice by turning down Tim Riggins, number 33.
Chris continues to talk with Tim, acting rather smugly. Bastard. It is not over until I say it's over, you got that? So yeah, Tim still has a chance! Take that! Haha.
Tim knows that he should stop now. He knows it. He stops. And goes back to Matt, who is happily drunk. Hmm. Happily? No, not really.
Lyla seems a bit upset. Wait, does that mean she has come to her senses and realized that she should choose Tim!? I certainly hope so for her sake!
Julie cruising with her mother. She knows how to drive! Though stopping for red lights needs practice.
Why the sad face Julie? And why does Mrs. Coach not notice the sad face? *Pouts*.
Matt at practice - drunk - trying to figure out who goes where and what exactly it is for a play they are supposed to work on right now. Hmm. You go there, you there and you! Yes, you, you are over there. Good.
Matty! It's the wrong ass you're touching. Number 55 does not look happy. Haha.
I got it coach! No need to worry. Matt Saracen knows what is wrong. Now, if you could all just do as I say this time and - wait, what is it again we are supposed to do? Coach is not pleased!
Riggins, you go over there. Riggins, however, does not want to do that. Matt is no good at playing when he is drunk. Riggins now know, that he should never take Matt out for a drink before a game, unless he wants to loose badly. Ehm Matt! You're going the wrong way dude.
Matt just wants to sleep. Hangover is a bitch, right Matty? Now, if only Landry would shut the fuck up.
Ehm, enter the Smash. Don't you just love the silent treatment he receives from Saracen? No?
OMG, yay! *Squeee*! We got a point!
Proud Mrs. Coach yelling at them a bit more, pleased that she has turned a team of losers into a good and surprisingly enough, winning team.
Tyra = the ultimate volleyball player?
Mrs. Coach watching Julie, now sixteen, driving away.
Tim is buying Matt a stripper!!
Tim telling Matt that the stripper is his treat! Oh Riggins, you sure know how to have fun.
Matt is certainly enjoying himself. Tim is pleased that he bought a stripper for the quarterback.
Tyra has decided to tell Landry how she feels - best moment to tell him this? Yes, when he's already on a date with Jean. Nice one Tyra! Landry is not entirely comfortable with the situation. And Jean? She knows what is going on.
Brian "Smash" Williams' scholarship to TMU has been revoked. He has now lost everything he ever worked for.
Ma Williams tells him that she loves him. She even had tears in her eyes, which made me shed a tear or two as well.
Brian tries to be brave, but right now all he needs is his mommy, *hugs him*.
Ma Williams helps her son getting rid of everything that makes him sad :(
Coach is not happy with having to go pick up Matt and Mrs. Saracen at the hospital because Matt is too drunk to get them home themselves.
Coach decides that a shower will do Matt good!
Matt is angry! Matt does not like this! Why does Coach even care? Matt: "You don't care about me; you left me for a better job! Your daughter left me for a better guy! Carlotta left me for Guatemala! My dad left me for a damn war! Everybody leaves me!"
Matt: "What is wrong with me?"
Coach: "There is nothing wrong with you. There is nothing wrong with you."
Poor Matt! I cried when I saw this scene. It was so sad, *sobs*.
Friday Landry has chosen Tyra! Poor Jean was dumped earlier.
Tyra smiles when she watches Landry leave her house, promising him that she will see him after the game. Does that mean they are officially a couple? Why, oh why!? Sorry, Landry has never been one of my favourites.
Julie showing her mom that she knows how to park a car without her mother's help. Mrs. Coach feels helpless as she watches her daughter grow up. Awww.
Smash comes to the locker room in his street clothes, and he is greeted by silence.
The team and Matt especially, are watching Brian. How can they win without Smash on the team? This is a sad, sad day.
The team decides that this is unfair! Brian seems to appreciate the team stepping up for him, begging Coach Taylor to let him play, but Taylor rightly says he can't go against the board's decision.
Smash gives them the pre-game pep talk, telling them, "This might be the last place I ever play."
Smash encourages them to win, to just get to the playoffs, and then he can come back and lead them to State. They have Matt and Riggins on the team, so they should be able to do so.
The team is ready to play, and they all touches the P on the wall as they leave the room.
Only Smash is left behind in the locker room, watching as his team go on without him.
Then he slowly breaks down, crying.
The last we see, is Smash crying his heart out and then it fades to black. His dreams have been shattered, and he will never play professional football as he has dreamed about. I cried when I saw this scene. Poor Brian, *sobs*!
